Crime and Punishment

Homer, Odyssey 1.47 (Athena speaking about Aegisthus' death at the hands of Orestes; tr. Peter Green):
So may all others perish who commit such crimes!

ὡς ἀπόλοιτο καὶ ἄλλος, ὅτις τοιαῦτά γε ῥέζοι.
Scipio Africanus quoted this line on hearing of the death of Tiberius Gracchus. See Plutarch, Life of Tiberius Gracchus 21.4, and Diodorus 35.7.3.
