[P]resumably he would enjoy the
savage epithets....Of his three
epithets βροτολοιγός is straightforward, 'ruinous to mortals', μιαιφόνος
means 'polluted by murder', cf. μιαίνω, μίασμα, and τειχεσιπλήτης
'approacher [i.e. attacker] of [city] walls', with -πλήτης connected with
πέλας, πελάζω.
