Autobiography, be the blog anonymous or ... onymous, which does not bear on professional matters and activities, should be avoided.But the autobiographical bits, those of the Sauvage included when he breaks his own rule, are some of the most enjoyable parts of academic blogs. For example, Horace Jeffery Hodges at Gypsy Scholar, in addition to scholarly posts like this one, has been publishing a delightful series of boyhood memories:It's almost like a serialized Dickens novel.
