An Old Man and His Books
Lu Yu (1125-1209), The Wind and the Rain (tr. Pai Chwen-yu):

I fear that only death will be able to snatch me away from them.
I wake and poke at the lamp beneath my window,
And so I pass through this night of wind and rain.
