Liddell and Scott Don't Help Me a Jot

Edward FitzGerald (1809-1883), letter to W.B. Donne (November 28, 1862), seeking enlightenment on a matter of Greek geography:
        Lempriere
        Is no-where;
        Liddell and Scott
        Don't help me a jot:
        When I'm off, Donnegan
        Don't help me on again.——
So I'm obliged to resort to old Donne again!
