Joining

Donald Richie (1924-2013), Journals (Oct. 3, 1988):
I dislike any kind of joining—the Catholic Church, the Soka Gakkai, the Communist Party, or kneeling and praying for HIH. In my ideal world no one would pledge allegiance to anything.
HIH = His Imperial Highness
