τὸ μήποτ᾿ εἰσιδεῖν φιλίας ἀλόχουI think that "dead wife" is a misprint for "dear wife" here. The error persists in the Digital Loeb Classical Library version. Cf. id., line 917, pp. 254-255, where the same phrase φιλίας ἀλόχου is translated as "dear wife."
