Therefore, Father Dionysus, you who please garland-loving
men, president of cheerful drinking parties—
hail to you! Grant us the time, assistant in good deeds,
to drink, and to play, and to have just thoughts!
τῷ σύ πάτερ Διόνυσε, φιλοστεφάνοισιν ἀρέσκων
ἀνδράσιν, εὐθύμων συμποσίων πρύτανι,
χαῖρε· δίδου δ᾿ αἰῶνα, καλῶν ἐπιήρανε ἔργων, 15
