Their Labor Stands Till Now

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), "The King's Task," lines 16-17:
...Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire.
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stands till now...
But I fear it won't stand much longer.
