I only wish I could discover the truth as easily as I can expose falsehood.Some commentators compare Athenagoras, On the Resurrection 11.5 (tr. B.P. Pratten):
utinam tam facile vera invenire possem quam falsa convincere.
The refutation of falsehood is less important than the establishment of truth.
ἔλαττον γὰρ τὸ τὸ ψεῦδος ἐλέγχειν τοῦ τὴν ἀλήθειαν κρατύνειν.
