The Governing Class

Aristotle, Politics 4.13.8 (1297 b 9; tr. H. Rackham):
For it does not always happen that those who are in the governing class are gentlemen.

οὐ γὰρ ἀεὶ συμβαίνει χαρίεντας εἶναι τοὺς μετέχοντας τοῦ πολιτεύματος.
χαρίεντας = "men of education" (W.L. Newman on 1267 a 1).
