Cooking Fish

When you have good fish, naturally soft, with rich flesh,
Just sprinkle it lightly with salt and moisten it with oil.
By itself, within itself, it has the faculty of pleasure.
τὸν δ᾿ ἀγαθὸν μαλακόν τε φύσει καὶ πίονα σάρκα
ἁλσὶ μόνον λεπτοῖς πάσας καὶ ἐλαίῳ ἀλείψας·
τὴν ἀρετὴν γὰρ ἔχει τῆς τέρψιος αὐτὸς ἐν αὑτῷ.
