Pants

Aristophanes, Wealth 122 (tr. Jeffrey Henderson):
Maybe, but all I know is that he scares the pants off me.

οὐκ οἶδ᾿· ἐγὼ δ᾿ ἐκεῖνον ὀρρωδῶ πάνυ.
An infelicitous translation — the ancient Greeks didn't wear trousers. ὀρρωδῶ = dread, shrink from.
