Keep Off the Beaten Path

Diogenes Laertius 8.1.17 (Pythagoras; tr. R.D. Hicks):
Don't walk the highway.

τάς λεωφόρους μὴ βαδίζειν.
λεωφόρους = λαοφόρους, literally people-bearing, sc. ὁδούς.
