How can a child be well educated by one who has not been well educated himself?The easiest, most effective, and cheapest way to improve the public schools in the United States would be to remove, once and for all, the requirement for teacher certification. Open the classrooms to teachers who are well educated in their subject matter, and expel those whose education degrees were granted by teacher training mills, unless they can demonstrate mastery of something other than pedagogical theory.
