More on Idleness
Thanks to Dennis Mangan for additional references to works on idleness:

- Paul Lafargue, The Right To Be Lazy, published in The Right To Be Lazy and Other Studies, tr. Charles Kerr (Chicago, 1883), which has this motto from Lessing: "Let us be lazy in everything, except in loving and drinking, except in being lazy." Lafargue thought three hours of work per day was sufficient.
- Bertrand Russell, In Praise of Idleness, published in Harper's 165 (Oct. 1932) 552-559. Russell recommended a maximum of fours hours of work per day.
