Source of Pride

Archilochus, fragment 247 West, preserved by Eustathius, commentary on Homer, Iliad 11.385 (tr. Laura Swift):
They say that Aristotle claimed that 'delighting in your horn' meant Paris was proud of his penis... and it seems that when the scorpion-tongued Archilochus called the penis a 'soft horn', this was where he got the expression from.

Ἀριστοτέλης δέ, φασί (Arist. Pseudepigraphus p. 166 Rose), κέραι ἀγλαὸν (Il. 11.385) εἶπεν ἀντὶ τοῦ αἰδοῖο σεμνυνόμενον...καὶ ἔοικεν ὁ σκορπιώδης τὴν γλῶσσαν Ἀρχίλοχος ἁπαλὸν κέρας τὸ αἰδοῖον εἰπών, ἐντεῦθεν τὴν λέξιν πορίσασθαι.
