Practical Latin
My friend Jim K. draws my attention to a web page containing some practical Latin expressions, with good English explanations. Beware of the misprints, though. I noticed the following:
Newer› ‹Older
- ad captadum vulgus, should be ad captandum vulgus
- ingorantia legis neminem excusat, should be ignorantia legis neminem excusat
- nenc est bibendum, should be nunc est bibendum
- quaerenda pecunia primum est, virtus post nommos, should be quaerenda pecunia primum est, virtus post nummos
- uses est optimum magister, should be usus est optimus magister
- verba volant, scripta manet, should be verba volant, scripta manent
- vita brefix, ars longa, should be vita brevis, ars longa
