Martin Pizzlewit
Dear Michael,
Where the dickends these double entendres take us I don't know but your snatch of Dick-ends perfectissimum suggests the dongtological argument, or is it the intentional phallacy? Who cares?
Here's one from that old prude Henry James:
"'Oh, I can't explain,' cried Roderick impatiently, returning to his work. 'I've only one way of expressing my deepest feelings - it's this.' And he swung his tool." (Roderick Hudson)
There's an article on double entendres in road signs in today's Independent:

All suggestions regarding prudish alterations to be sent to:
Dr Thomas Bowdler,
69, Gropecunt Lane,
Oxford
Best Wishes,
Peter W.
