A Prayer
H.W. Garrod (1878-1960), Strife:
Newer› ‹Older
I ask not from the inward strife
A dozing spirit tamely free:
To wrestle with the Life of Life
Is life, or life enough for me.
But from the strife of tongues, O Lord,
That rages round thy sanctuary,
From speech that slayeth like a sword
Protect the soul that seeketh Thee.
