Past and Gone

Aeschylus, Agamemnon 567-569 (tr. Oliver Taplin):
But why complain of all these things?
The pain is past, well past—so far so for the dead
that they don't need to think of getting up again.

τί ταυτα πενθεῖν δεῖ; παροίχεται πόνος·
παροίχεται δέ, τοῖσι μὲν τεθνηκόσιν
τὸ μήποτ᾿ αὖθις μηδ᾿ ἀναστῆναι μέλειν.
