Fortune

Demosthenes 2.22 (2nd Olynthiac; tr. J.H. Vince):
For fortune is indeed a great weight in the scales; I might almost say it is everything in human affairs.

μεγάλη γὰρ ῥοπή, μᾶλλον δὲ τὸ ὅλον ἡ τύχη παρὰ πάντ᾽ ἐστὶ τὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων πράγματα.
