A Sound Mind in a Sound Body

Homer, Odyssey 20.365-366 (tr. Richmond Lattimore):
I have eyes and I have ears, and I have both my feet,
and a mind inside my breast which is not without understanding.

εἰσί μοι ὀφθαλμοί τε καὶ οὔατα καὶ πόδες ἄμφω
καὶ νόος ἐν στήθεσσι τετυγμένος οὐδὲν ἀεικής.
Erasmus, Adagia III x 56 quotes these lines under the heading "Qui per se sufficit."
