Lessons

Isocrates, To Demonicus 19 (tr. David Mirhady):
Believe that many lessons are better than many possessions, for possessions disappear quickly, but lessons remain for all time.

ἡγοῦ τῶν ἀκουσμάτων πολλὰ πολλῶν εἶναι χρημάτων κρείττω· τὰ μὲν γὰρ ταχέως ἀπολείπει, τὰ δὲ πάντα τὸν χρόνον παραμένει.
