Thieves

Plautus, Trinummus 1020-1023 (tr. Wolfgang de Melo, with his note):
Struthus, Circonicus, Cremnus, Cercobulus, and Collabus,43 crooks who snatch purses, have chains clanking around their shins, and wear fetters smooth; do you expect to recover your ring from among these people? In my presence, one of them stole the sole of a runner's shoe from him while he was actually running.

43 Comical names. Struthus means "lascivious," and Circonicus "someone who beats hawks"; Cremnus means "cliff" and thus "dangerous"; Cercobulus refers to someone who "thinks of genitals"; and Collabus stands for collops "hermaphrodite."

Struthus [fuit], Circonicus, Cremnus, Cercobulus, Collabus,
loculiripidae, cruricrepidae, ferriteri mastigiae:

A.S. Gratwick, "Curculio's Last Bow: Plautus, 'Trinummus' IV.3," Mnemosyne 34.3/4 (1981) 331-350 (at 345):
...Cercobulus, 'Genital-minded' will be fit company for a Struthus...
Presumably from κέρκος = tail, penis, but cf. Karl Schmidt, "Die Griechischen Personennamen bei Plautus," Hermes 37 (1902) 173-211, 353-390, 608-626 (at 363):
S. 161. 316, Bechtel, griech. Spitzn.
