The Fort of Rathangan

Anonymous (7th century), "The Fort of Rathangan," in Kuno Meyer, tr., Selections from Ancient Irish Poetry, 2nd ed. (London: Constable & Company Ltd, 1913), p. 93:
The fort over against the oak-wood,
Once it was Bruidge's, it was Cathal's,
It was Aed's, it was Ailill's,
It was Conaing's, it was Cuilíne's,
And it was Maeldúin's:
The fort remains after each in his turn—
And the kings asleep in the ground.
For the Old Irish original see Kuno Meyer, Miscellanea Hibernica (Urbana: University of Illinois, 1917), p. 25.
